The PreSales Engineer is the important link that can make the difference in a sales process. Together with the Sales, Technical and Product department, he analyzes customers' needs and possible solutions IRISnet can offer them. Given the wide technical knowledge of the IRISnet products, the PreSales Engineer can make an accurate customized offer.
1. Technical Expertise and Solution Design
-
- Utilize your deep knowledge of network infrastructure to design customized solutions that address client challenges and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales, Technical (Particularly with the Managed Services department) and Product teams to understand client requirements and translate them into technical proposals that align with our product offerings.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in network and cybersecurity technologies, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of the industry.
2. Client Engagement and Requirement Gathering

- Work directly with clients to understand their technical needs, pain points, and business goals related to network and cybersecurity.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client environments, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Present and explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Proposal Development and Presentation

- Develop detailed and compelling technical proposals that clearly articulate the value and benefits of our network and cybersecurity solutions.
- Work with the Sales Manager and Sales teams to ensure proposals are delivered within the agreed-upon timeframe (within 10 days).
- Lead client presentations and demonstrations, effectively showcasing how our solutions can address their specific challenges.
4. Scope of Work Definition

- Collaborate with the Sales Manager, Product Management, Project Management and Technical teams to define accurate and comprehensive scopes of work for proposed solutions.
- Ensure that all technical aspects of the scope are well-documented, feasible, and aligned with client expectations.
- Proactively identify any potential risks or challenges in the proposed solutions and suggest mitigations.
5. Internal Collaboration and Process Improvement

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Management, and Engineering, to ensure seamless delivery of proposed solutions.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve our internal processes, tools, and methodologies related to presales activities.
- Participate in regular team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to the continuous improvement of our presales function.
Relationships:
- Report to the Sales Manager
- Builds strong team relationships with several departments
- Fluent in both Dutch and French
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification CCDA of Cisco and Certification Fortinet.
- Extensive experience in network infrastructure and cybersecurity, with a strong background in presales or solution architecture.
- Deep understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, UCC, Smartbuilding/IOT and other cybersecurity technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design tailored solutions that meet client needs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience working in a client-facing role, with a proven ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
